Tips for Taking Care of Your Custom Embroidered Beach Towel
If you have recently received your order of embroidered towels from our warehouse and you are about to wash the towels for the first time, it is wise to heed the following tips to ensure your custom beach towels remain as good as new.
Always read the label
Before laundering anything, especially towels, check the label and follow its instructions carefully. This will help prevent unraveling of fibers in the embroidery or discoloration.
Test the area
Before putting anything on your custom embroidered beach towel, test a small area to see if the detergent or product you are using will discolor the material. Use a cotton swab to test small areas so in case there is a problem with colorfastness, it will not be noticeable.
Wash in cold water
Unless the label says otherwise, wash embroidered pieces in cold water on the delicate cycle. As soon as the cycle is complete, remove the towels from the washer and resist the temptation to wring out the towel, as this will damage the stitches.
To dry or not to dry
You can dry embroidered materials, but that's up to you. If you do decide to dry your towels, make sure that the heat is low and always make sure to fluff up your towels after they have dried.
The tips for embroidered towels can also apply to other custom beach towels so that the towels remain fresh and good looking for years to come. A few other tips for washing towels includes using distilled white vinegar to eliminate residue or unpleasant smells and avoiding fabric softener in the wash to increase the absorbency of the towels.
